Prologue

Humankind on the red planet sought to expand their reach, colonizing the blue planet and modifying its environment for human habitation.

283 years passed. The blue planet sought independence from Earth Prime; thus began a war that lasted 76 years. At its conclusion, the two planets forged a non-intervention treaty. All interstellar travel between them was halted. A defense system was put into place, including orbital elevators and monitoring satellites made to repel any invaders.

Voices for a new world echoed across the blue planet; voices that would shape their government. But an anomaly appeared in the world—people born with innate special abilities caused by the Femto energy used during colonization and the war. These beings were designated non-human, and called Outers. Femto energy would change countless other creatures, turning them into aggressive organisms that would come to be known as Immortals.

Outers were rejected by society, their cruel treatment widening the rift between them and humanity... and so came the Great War, 369 years after colonization, bringing with it revolution for the Outers, who enacted a strict military regime through the Sovereign Axiom. The three supreme leaders of the Axiom, dubbed the Trinitas, separated the Ground—the home of humans—from the Garden—the aerial paradise the Outers called home. The humans who resisted the rule of the Axiom would take the title of Reclaimers.

Arm yourself with your Arsenal and face the new threat. Your story begins here.

Outer

Humans who have mutated due to exposure to Femto particles. So named by humanity out of fear and spite to divide them from the human race.

Femto exposure leads to the atrophy of the neocortex, resulting in the lapse of the association cortex and leaving only the paleocortex intact. After this occurs, the process of reconstruction leads to the development of a new neocortex, which ultimately creates a new association cortex unlike the ones found in normal humans. This awakens dormant genes within the exposed individuals, granting them special powers.

Femto

Mysterious particles that inundated Earth Prime when the planet collided with the moon. The day of the collide came to be known as the "Day of Awakening." The cores of the two spheres chemically reacted on contact, which produced new matter—Femto particles.

These particles affected the already existing matter and organisms, yielding new resources for the world. However, the world was also forced to contend with dramatic changes in both their surroundings and themselves.

Immortals

Autonomous evolving weapons sent forth by the regime during their battle with the colonies. With their communications with the regime cut off, and thus no updates given to their mission, they continue to faithfully execute their original orders: to annihilate the humans that populate the colonies. Some of them, mutated humans who absorbed Femto but failed to become Outers, are simply known as "failures".

The Sovereign Axiom, the governing regime, continues to eliminate the Immortals they cannot control, while using the ones they can to their advantage.

Arsenals

The general term for exterior armor developed for combat. Different combinations of equipment have different properties and can yield various abilities. What once stood at 10 meters tall has become more compact through technological advances. The standard is now "Grade 5" (or "G5") which, at 2.5 meters, is almost human-sized.

Arsenals connect to an Outer's body via the Outer's spinal cord and nervous system. The wearer then has a circular terminal called an "expansion unit" implanted in their back, through which all neurotransmissions take place. In the case of an emergency, should the expansion unit lose its functionality, the Arsenal can plug into other nerves to become operable.

The Reclaimers

An underground organization consisting of a headquarters and several branches. They are the resistance who fight against the rule of the Sovereign Axiom. The Reclaimer headquarters only knows the identities of the leaders and associates in each branch. There are different branches scattered across the land.

The Oldfort branch of the Reclaimers is located beneath the Coliseum. Beneath their base, Oldfort is connected to various ancient spaceships, excavation points, cargo routes, and waterways. This network enables the Reclaimers to evade the Axiom's watchful eyes as they operate.

The Neun

Officially referred to as the "Special Services 9th Division" under the Sovereign Axiom's Military Bureau of the General Staff Headquarters, they are a special forces unit also known among humans as the "demons of heaven."

Comprised of Outers with exceptional powers specialized for combat, they are led by Void, a man feared even among his peers for his ruthlessness when executing missions, showing no mercy regardless of if the target is human or Outer.

The Trinitas

The three Outers who led the battle against humans in the war for independence. This triumvirate, and the Supreme Headquarters they lead, are known as the Trinitas, and have maintained their power for 160 years.

The Garden

A series of spaceships, modified into geostationary orbit satellite cities, were placed as intermediate points between Earth Prime and the colonized planet. Where there were originally four, there is now only one remaining. Known as the Garden, it functions as the capital and base of the Sovereign Axiom. The Garden is connected to the surface base by an orbital elevator.

Since the Outers began their reign and separated humanity between the Garden and the Ground, the elevator has acted as a sort of boundary between the two, and is under strict surveillance as a result.

The Great War

283 years after the settlement was founded, the colonized planet started a war with Earth Prime, seeking to win their independence. At its conclusion, all interstellar travel between the planets was halted when the two forged a non-intervention treaty. Voices for a new world echoed across the colonized planet; voices that would shape their government. However, an increasing amount of issues with Immortals deepened the conflict between the Outers and humans, until it finally sparked a revolutionary war to end the conflict—a struggle now known as the Great War.

The Sovereign Axiom

The miliary regime born from the Great War. It is ruled by the Trinitas, the Outers who led the revolution, and is split into three governing branches: the Administrative, Science, and Military Bureaus.

The Great Collide

In the past, there were originally four Gardens. One was modified into an interceptor weapon during the war against Earth Prime. Another was used as a weapon of mass destruction early on in the Great War, killing many on the surface of the colonized planet. A third Garden fell to the colonized surface after the Sovereign Axiom's rule began, in a tragedy that came to be known as the Great Collide. The cause of the fall is unknown, but both Outers and humans can recall the fear of the past war it brought.

Planetary Modification

A problem arose during colonization: Earth Prime had used Femto as their main energy source, but the newly colonized planet did not have Femto particles. This raised concerns of an eventual exhaustion of energy sources, and so began the efforts to modify the planet to prevent this.

They started this process with vegetation. Because Femto particles easily dissolved in water, trees then absorbed that water, resulting in their mutation. The mutated vegetation eventually began to release oxygen laden with Femto, and so the newly colonized planet secured the Femto particles needed to sustain their energy consumption.
